ELECTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF DELEGATES
WHAT IS A DELEGATES' ASSEMBLY?
With the close cooperation and support of the University, the new Presidential Board, which took office during the academic year, renewed the Statutes, which were adopted by the Senate on 8 February 2022 and became law. Thanks to these changes, the Delegates’ Assembly, the main rule-making body, overseeing the work of the Students’ Union, now has more powers than ever before, as the student delegates now elect the two Vice-Presidents in addition to the President. The Delegates’ Assembly also has the possibility to invite the members of the Student’s Union Board of Directors to report on their activities. The Delegates’ Assembly may also adopt resolutions on matters concerning the University.
To be valid, candidates must submit the following documents:
- a document containing his/her name, year, degree, course, covering letter and photograph (election poster);
- a document officially certifying that you are an active student (not on a passive semester);
- a declaration that:
- you are aware of and accept the provisions of the Statutes;
- if you wish to stand as an individual candidate, a declaration to that;
- in which electoral district do you wish to stand;
- contribution to publishing the above-mentioned details during the election period.
A political group may be formed for a given election during the period of nomination. For more information on the conditions, for establishing a list, see Article 14 of the Statutes. If a list is drawn up, the declarations, proof of status and election posters of the students on the list shall be sent to the Supervisory Board by the head of the political group during the nomination period.
Applications and any requests for redress should be sent to the Supervisory Committee at the official university email addresses below:

WHY SHOULD I VOTE?
The legal framework for the operation of students’ unions is laid down in Chapter XVI of Act CCIV of 2011, which gives students the right to establish a body representing the interests of students, which is the Students’ Union of the university. For the Students’ Union to continue to function legally at Corvinus, it requires the valid vote of at least 25% of the students who are active students at the time of the election. For the Students’ Union to continue to function, to participate in Corvinus festivals and parties, to get help with complicated academic issues, or to join a team of people who are standing up against lecturers who are breaking the rules, you should vote on 25 April 2022.
The election will be conducted electronically via the University’s Moodle system, anonymously. Number of students eligible to vote on 6 April 2022: 8,647
WHO CAN I VOTE FOR?
You can stand as an individual candidate or as a candidate on a university list. In the election of the Delegates’ Assembly, 11 individual candidates – 7 at bachelor’s level and 4 at master’s level – will be elected under the Students’ Union Statutes and will work together in the Delegates’ Assembly, the main rule-making body of the Students’ Union. The maximum number of people who can be elected is the same as the number of people who can be elected at the same level of education.
List of candidates
Candidates standing in the Elections have the possibility to stand as a list of candidates. A list of candidates may include both candidates standing as individual candidates and candidates standing only on the university list. The list of candidates shall be composed of at least 30, but not more than 50 members, who shall be elected to the Assembly in the order of the votes they receive. The online voting form allows you to support only one list with your vote.
Further rules regarding the nomination and election of candidates can be found in the Statutes of the Students’ Union of Corvinus University of Budapest (Chapter III, § 10 – § 17), which is available on the University’s website and on the Students’ Union’s website.
